Wendy, Jamie, and Jobe arrive in Odessa Texas to follow their only lead in discovering who was behind Gene Stoffel's abduction. But beyond locating the last person to see Gene in the city, the trio has no way to locate the kidnappers. Their side trip for information becomes a hunt for a new serial killer, one completely unlike Gene or Neal Mosley. The kidnappers are also in the city, and they have become aware of the trio of unlikely vigilantes. FBI agent Gavin Lebowitz has stumbled onto Wendy's past, and while he is hunting for her, other agents are searching Odessa for the 'mad dog killer'. A four way race has begun to capture the killer first, and it ends in an explosive battle with all sides joining in. Who will be left standing at the end of the trail of madness?
