Ann's stormy years of marriage to Bart end in divorce. Her friend and boss, Walter, emotionally supports her. Bart's father, Pappa Albert remains close out of love for Ann's two sons. Ann and Henry find each other and marry; a marriage idyllically happy for her until Henry dies. She is emotionally supported by her best friend Rachel, and by Walter whose unhappy marriage has ended.
