Ruth, A Role Model for the Women of the Twenty-First Century

by Dr Carol Lee Sherman

Society is trying to change how God created women to be. Society says that a woman should be a loving wife, a perfect parent and have a full-time career to boot. This is not what God had designed the role of the woman to be. No one can hold down those three roles and do justice to all of them at the same time. Even though Ruth lived many years ago, she should be a role model for the modern woman. She was a woman of noble character. She displayed character traits we all should be striving to attain. She chose God over her own comfort and convenience. God blessed her abundantly because of her faithfulness to her mother-in-law. I challenge you to take a new look at Ruth and allow her example to call you to a higher standard of living.
