Twenty years ago Sarah Whitman’s father seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth after embezzling one million dollars from a bank in their small Maine town. Unable to live with the shame, Sarah’s mother killed herself. Sarah subsequently spent the rest of her childhood with an aunt in New Orleans. When Sarah’s father’s body is pulled from a lake, Sarah returns to Maine to prove to everyone what she has believed all along--that her father committed no crime and is an innocent man. However, the townspeople aren’t so quick to believe Sarah’s theory, and she must turn to childhood friend Tony DeMarco to help prove her father’ innocence. Tony, however, is hiding his own secrets, and as Sarah falls in love with him she risks putting herself in serious danger.
