This book is about Aliens and how they track generations of families. One family leaves their homeland and comes to the United States to escape the unknown. Here they thought they could live with their children in safety and felt comforted. Instead they are abducted by Aliens, all that is except the youngest child who was not in the house at the time. Starting the second generation, he was raised by the town sheriff in the 1800's. He knows what he saw, and he knows what happened to his family, but is too small to be believed. Growing up, he moves on and finds himself saving and marring a woman who has been captured by Indians in the Wyoming territories. Now he must tell her of his troubled past and the things that still haunt him. Their daughter suffers terribly by Alien intervention, and ruins her life. Her children, now the fourth generation, are living in present day, and also have much terror to live through. The stress is taking it's toll, and they wonder if it ends with them. But does it?
