The story of Pettis Dentel, a young Special Operations veteran of Desert Storm, whose attempts to maintain his sanity in the aftermath of the Gulf War are on a downhill slide. His chaotic lifestyle, replete with visions, hallucinations, alcoholism, and thoughts of suicide, threatens to destroy him completely. Unexpectedly, a figure from his past reemerges, bringing about a reunion of the survivors of Dentel's old unit; suddenly, the chaos of his life is brought to a climax, and Dentel wavers on the edge of insanity, memory, and redemption.
