An Unlikely Duke

by Debra Killeen

Disillusioned by the state of health care in present-day America, Dr. Christopher McCabe answers a mysteriously worded job advertisement, where he meets Bishop Edward Fitzroy of the kingdom of Myrridia in a world existing on another plane. Edward has uncovered a conspiracy against the life of a powerful man in Myrridia, Duke Christian Lattimore of Saelym, and upon praying for aid to prevent the death, opens a Magical window that leads him to Boston, Massachusetts. He places a job advertisement in an attempt to find a man who resembles the duke and can help him reach his goal. Chris's resemblance to Christian is nearly identical. After arguments with Edward and his roommate and best friend Elijah Holmes, Chris agrees to accept the assignment and travel to Myrridia, accompanied by Elijah.
