The Feeling is a story written from the memories of learning, hunting, and the loss of my father. It does not provide great hunting technical knowledge, but more of a look at how one learns and becomes familiar with the sport, combined with a bit of humor. Tumbling down the side of a mountain, being dragged into the current of a river, and punching myself in the nose are just a few of the stupid things I have done in search of the feeling. More often than not, I am not successful in my hunts, but every year brings a new adventure. Every chapter offers another chance to bring down the elusive big game animal, be it deer, elk or something else. Around every tree, every rock, the possibility is there-the possibility of The Feeling.
