Beautiful nurse Andrea Noble goes from Chicago's inner cities to the rural Bayou Blue Public Health Clinic. If she is to help the local people, including the many troubled youths in the area, she must get the struggling clinic back on its feet--an overwhelming task. Jamal Turner, a computer consultant, comes to her aid. Romance develops, but Jamal and Andrea's relationship is threatened by menacing local gangs and by Jamal's own secrets.
