In the Light of the Sun

by Marie Dawson

Book Summary Stripped of everything she holds dear, Rachel finds herself on a deserted island where a mysterious stranger turns her despair to joy. But is the passionate encounter real or merely a dream? And who is the man who holds the keys to Rachel¿s destiny? In The Light Of The Sun recounts the extraordinary life of Rachel ben al-edion. As a ten-year-old child she witnesses the crucifixion of Jesus the Nazarene, the carpenter who claims he is the son of God. In the heart of an emotionally hungry Jewish girl, the event sets in motion an intense investigation into the new cult, the Way, which changes her life and destiny irrevocably. Later, as a woman living in Ephesos, deep in the bosom of the pagan goddess Artemis, Rachel is caught up in the clamour and confusion of the early church at the beginning of its history. It is an unprecedented moment in time: raw, urgent and illuminating, when men and women, as emissaries of a new revelation, are inspired to pioneer a radical vision of love and liberty in the cosmopolitan, dynamic city. In The Light Of The Sun explores the journey of a woman who dares to trust her innermost feelings and follow her heart. It will enthral everyone who reads it. Author Biography Marie Dawson is a British journalist with an international background, who has won awards for her writing in the United States and Canada. Her articles on social and humanitarian issues, psychology and religion, have been published throughout the world. She began her investigation into ancient Ephesos in New York, where she worked as a writer and editor for national magazines. She lives with her daughter in Essex, England. In The Light Of The Sun is her first novel.
