Hunters are disappearing. The five Lenape-Algonquin tribes are now on the verge of internal conflict, and each names the other murderer. Secrets and betrayals between the tribes threaten to tear them asunder, possibly attracting the warlike Mohicans or Iroquois, who continue to find corpses upon their borderlands. During this pre-colonization period in America's history, Tamamend, chief of the Unami, seeks to protect his people at all costs. Unbeknownst to the bickering Lenape, a supernatural horror from the British Isles has descended to slake its thirst for blood upon the natives of this new and savage land. Only by working together do the five tribes stand a chance for survival. Tamamend's single-minded determination to this end drives him to take on the guise of hero, anti-hero, savior, and monster. Such is the desperation of a man with knowledge he is dying, making time itself an obstacle to achieve his saintly goal.
