How do I rent a paperback or audio books À La Carte?

Simply drowse our selection and click the "Rent" button when you find a title your would like to rent. The very first time you rent a title "À La Carte" you will go through a checkout process where you will set up an account. From that point on, you will simply sign into your account to rent or add titles to your list. You may save titles you want to rent in the future to your "My List" page.

How many titles can I rent À La Carte at a time?

You can have up to 4 titles checked out at any time. There is no limitation on the number your can rent À La Carte, only the number checked out at any given time.

How long can I keep titles I have rented?

Paperback books must be returned within 45 days from the day the order ships. Audiobooks must be returned within 30 days from the day they were shipped.

Do I have to have a separate account for paperback and audiobooks?

No, you can rent just paperback, just audiobooks, or a mixture of both through the same account.

Are there any late fees?

Paperback Books: $1 per week up to 4 weeks, at which time the title is cleared from your account and is yours to keep.
Audiobooks: $5 per week up to 6 weeks, at which time the title is cleared from your account and is yours to keep.

Do I have to pay extra for shipping?

No, there are never any shipping fees or hidden charges. Sipping both to and from your home is free.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Books
Orders are shipped via U.S. Media Mail and should be received within 3-10 business days (7-10 business days if you live on the West Coast). For residents in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands and APO/FPO addresses, please allow an additional 2-5 business days.

Audiobooks
Orders are shipped via U.S. First Class Mail and should be received within 2-5 business days. For residents in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands and APO/FPO addresses, please allow an additional 2-3 business days.

Can I keep a title I have rented?

If you have fallen in love with a title you have rented, you may keep it by going to your "My List" page, check off the title or titles you would like to keep from your "Checked Out" list, then click on the "Keep" button

Can I rent more than one title at a time?

Orders for À La Carte rentals must be placed individually (meaning you can not place an order for more than one title at a time) but you can have up to 4 titles checked out at any given time.

Yes, we always ship the entire audiobook, regardless of the number of discs.
