Unexpectedly, nine-year-old Britney uncovers the magical secret of an elderly lady in her neighborhood. Britney is outraged because her favorite neighborhood garden is being torn up for new construction. She discovers the land was sold to pay for Hazel's medical bills. Hazel is an elderly neighbor whom Britney starts visiting and helping. She quickly finds out there is something more magical there. She discovers magical creatures are living there and her world begins to change.
