Pamela Newport, has to face many hardships. in her young life, her mother dying, and then raised by her father who believes in strict rules and regulations. This creates within Pamela a fiery temper. She, for many years, has a dream, regarding a young man with blue eyes, as well, as, a man with a Scottish brogue. Eventually, she meets Buddy, who is her first love. On the eve of her wedding, Buddy disappears on a business trip with her father, which results in her father drowning. A few years later, she meets William, the Scotsman, her second love, who hires her to aid in the completion of a book he's writing. His bossy manner reminds her too much of her fathers', yet, she enjoys his zany sense of humor. In spite of this several difficult moments occur.
Pamela experiences many moments as well as, lessons, love, sadness, forgiving, patience, and acceptance, which grants her wisdom in her growth and maturity, and eventually, she realizes, Buddy and William were the men in her dream, who were meant to be in life, as well as all her hardships, taught her to live, 'Gently From The Heart'.
